Development Specialist - Heart Ball/Go Red

We have an excellent opportunity for a Development Specialist in our Houston office. The Development Specialist provides support for the Heart Ball and Go Red for Women Campaigns. Work involves research and report development via Greater Giving, E1 and IQ; website development through Greater Giving; providing administrative support for the Ball and Go Red. Fundraising goal for this position is $25k. Responsibilities include: ' Entering and tracking Corporate Relations for Heart Ball and Go Red activities in Greater Giving ' Providing administrative support through scheduling meetings, organizing mailings, and managing expenses ' Printing and binding presentations for meetings ' Interacting with corporate contacts via the phone and face to face ' Providing administrative and organizational support for Heart Ball and Go Red ' Benchmarking our fundraising/giving opportunities against other organizations ' Assist in event/sponsorship activation ' Organizing AHA account team contacts, sponsorship contacts, proposals, letters of agreement, sponsorship payments, presentations, and benefits delivered ' May perform administrative work to include file maintenance, data collection, data entry, and report generation (i.e. gross/net income and completed events), processing expense vouchers, managing check requisition process, and processing invoices ' Manage Young at Heart volunteer committees, activities and communications ' Support and assist Ft. Bend County Committee's fundraising efforts
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and one year of related experience in an administrative, research, or coordination capacity Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, required Knowledge of Greater Giving or similar donor database programs Knowledge of the principles and practices of meeting management Excellent verbal and written business communications skills Ability to anticipate and satisfy customer needs; to work independently and take initiative; to creatively and effectively solve problems; to meet and interact with all levels of AHA staff and volunteers Ability to work evenings/weekends and travel when necessary Ability to lift and transport materials and other supplies as necessary Attracting talented, committed employees means offering a competitive benefits package, ongoing professional development and training, and a diverse and inclusive environment in which to work and grow.
