Our organization is responsible for several key areas for the HDD firmware which is divided up into three major objectives. Our group's primary responsibilities include developing firmware for each SOC which includes all CORE areas of the firmware architecture, the read/write channel and the CoSimulation of the the SOC's. The team's work is key and applies to all the products on the HDD roadmap and targets three major corporate objectives. Expansion of the HDD Dual Actuator swim lane, the advancement of the HAMR technology and the architectural changes going from an ARM R5/R8 processor design to a RISC-V processor design.
