About our group:

The Wafer Sustaining Engineering team supports the day to day factory operations for Seagate's recording head manufacturing. We solve problems impacting multiple products and toolsets by collaborating with a diverse group of individuals and organizations. Our mission is to achieve high product quality while maintaining productivity from the factory.

About the role - you will:

  • Monitor production processes by reading dials, gauges and operator charts.
  • Be responsible for monitoring production machines for problems.
  • Understand how the equipment is used and can make moderate machine adjustments (May do more difficult tooling replacements or adjustments)
  • Monitor special processes being run, make adjustments and document results.
  • Test new equipment and document the results for engineering.
  • Analyze rework/scrap data to determine root cause and corrective action.
  • Certify production trainers and perform routine process audits.
  • Perform related work as required.Work on state-of-the-art projects will keep you excited about your work.
  • Work in a team environment, you will be exposed to senior engineers and will have the opportunity to share your knowledge and learn from them.
  • Work on assignments that are semi-routine in nature but recognizes the need for occasional deviation from accepted practice.
  • Normally follow established procedures on routine work

Your experience includes:

  • Thin film wafer factory experience
  • Vocational or Technical Certificate, AAS Degree and/or comparable experience with wafer production equipment

Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. D Shift Position - 11.5 hours - Nights (Friday -Sunday and every other Thursday). 6:30 PM - 6:30 AM. The hours are subject to change with or without notice at the sole discretion of Seagate
