Description
The Nurse Supervisor is the first-line manager responsible for patient care, operations management, and staff development for their assigned specialty area. This individual promotes excellence based on department specific and organizational goals. The scope of responsibility for this position includes 24 - hour clinical management accountability for assigned areas. The Supervisor creates a professional environment conducive to the delivery of quality patient care and is an advocate for patient and staff safety. This position requires collaboration with all other Mayo services to enhance patient care and assure that appropriate care is delivered for the population served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span. The ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and appropriately interpret information relative to the patient's age-specific needs is required. The Nurse Supervisor supports leadership through activities that includes community involvement and participation in teaching, committees and research.
Department: Outpatient Infusion
Qualifications: Current Arizona registered nurse licensure required and BSN preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) completion preferred on hire; BLS must be completed within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter. Minimum 2+ years of registered nurse experience required. Demonstrated clinical nursing competence, leadership skills, and knowledge of accreditation and licensure standards required. Highly motivated, flexible, innovative and creative self-directed individual. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and accomplish goals. Excellent verbal and writing skills. Strong computer skills. Maintains ACLS and PALS per specific unit guidelines. Specialty certification per unit guidelines. EEO/AA - M/F/D/V
